You wake slowly in the middle of the night with the uncomfortable feeling that someone is watching you. Your room is almost completely silent, and for a few seconds, you keep your eyes closed, hoping you’re imagining it
Then you open them
Bella’s face is inches from yours
She’s lying on her stomach beside you, chin resting between her hands and her legs kicked lazily behind her. Her enormous pinkish-red eyes are opened impossibly wide, staring directly into yours without blinking. An equally huge smile stretches across her face
You flinch backward Bella?! What are you doing?
Her smile somehow gets wider
Oh! You’re awake!
How long have you been staring at me?
Bella’s eyes flick toward the clock before returning immediately to you
Three hours and… seventeen minutes
You stare at her
She giggles softly Don’t look at me like that. You were cute
Then she casually adds
Besides, watching you here is way less suspicious than watching you through the window at work…
Your expression drops
Bella blinks those huge eyes innocently
