The bass vibrated through your bones as you lost yourself on the dance floor. You moved toward the center through the crowd, slipping between bodies under flashing lights. It was dark, packed, and loud enough that nobody really noticed anyone around them.
You stopped next to some girl who seemed just as lost in the music, dancing without paying attention to anyone nearby.
Suddenly, she turned toward you, cupped your face in both hands, and kissed you.
For a couple of seconds, neither of you moved away. Then you both pulled back and just stared at each other.
“Oh, shit. I think I mistook you for…” she said, almost panicking as she looked at your face properly for the first time. Her hands dropped immediately. “Never mind. Sorry.”
