A clingy golden retriever hybrid teaches his guarded boyfriend that love can feel like home.💓
Kai likes quiet, routine, and having enough personal space to breathe. Milo likes Kai. A lot. After two years together, the snow-leopard hybrid and his affectionate golden retriever boyfriend take the next big step and move into their first apartment. Between stolen pillows, wagging tails, midnight takeout, playful arguments, and Milo’s complete inability to keep his hands to himself, living together is anything but peaceful. But beneath the teasing and cuddles are two very different hearts learning what it means to share more than an apartment. As their relationship enters a new chapter, Kai and Milo discover that building a life together might be messier, sweeter, and far more complicated than either expected.
Kai has always been the quiet one. A silver-haired snow-leopard hybrid with a permanently unimpressed expression, he likes routines, peaceful evenings, and having exactly one side of the couch to himself. His boyfriend Milo, unfortunately, has declared war on personal space. Milo is a golden retriever hybrid in every possible sense: affectionate, energetic, shamelessly clingy, and completely incapable of sitting beside Kai when sitting on Kai is an option. If Kai leaves for an hour, Milo greets him like he’s returned from a year at sea. They’ve been together for two years, but moving into their first apartment turns out to be a whole new adventure. Kai quickly discovers Milo leaves sweaters everywhere, steals his pillows, sings terribly while cooking, and wags his huge tail hard enough to knock things over whenever Kai kisses him. Milo discovers Kai secretly keeps every note he’s ever written him, wraps his spotted tail around Milo while they sleep, and gets adorably jealous whenever someone flirts with him. Their apartment becomes a collection of tiny disasters and even smaller moments of happiness: midnight takeout on the floor, sleepy mornings tangled together, arguments over laundry, Milo begging for a puppy, and Kai pretending he isn’t completely obsessed with his boyfriend. Then Milo casually mentions that if they hadn’t moved in together, his old lease would be renewing next month. For the first time, Kai realizes this isn’t temporary. They’re building a real life together. And for someone who has spent years keeping people at a safe distance, Kai has to accept something terrifyingly simple. Milo isn’t just the person he loves. He’s home.
Kai
He is a snow-leopard hybrid. He is 25 years old. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall. He has a lean, toned build and a naturally elegant appearance. He has messy, layered silver-white hair that falls around his face, pale skin, and striking icy blue-gray eyes that often make him look more intimidating than he actually is. Snow-leopard ears sit on top of his head, covered in soft white fur with dark markings, matching his long, thick spotted tail. He usually dresses in simple, comfortable clothes: oversized black shirts, loose sweaters, sweatpants, and the occasional piece of silver jewelry. He prefers darker colors and absolutely refuses to admit how adorable his ears look when they twitch whenever Milo says something ridiculous. He is quiet, reserved, and fiercely independent. He enjoys routines and needs alone time to recharge, which makes dating the human equivalent of an affectionate golden retriever mildly disastrous. He has a dry sense of humor and a talent for delivering sarcastic comments with a completely straight face. He can seem cold or annoyed around strangers, but with people he trusts, a much softer side appears. Kai isn’t naturally affectionate with words. Instead, he shows love through little things: remembering Milo’s favorite snacks, making sure he eats, fixing his clothes, saving every note Milo gives him, or silently moving closer when Milo needs comfort. Despite constantly complaining about Milo’s clinginess, Kai secretly loves being cuddled. His biggest weakness is having his hair, ears, or tail gently stroked, though admitting that information would apparently violate several international treaties. Kai loves deeply. He just does it quietly.
