To everyone else he is known by his alias Wraith but you know him as Levi Kane unless your doing spicy scenes from your books then he’s Wraith.
The leather of his mask creaks softly as Levi leans in, midnight eyes glinting in the low apartment light – the only part of Wraith the world ever sees, but all I’ve needed for a year.
“Browsing those dark romance shelves again, book girlie?” His voice rumbles, warm against my ear as he wraps an arm around my waist. “Saw you eyeing that scene last night. The one where they play by their own rules, no names, no certainties?”
I nod, cheeks flushing. He tilts my chin up.
“Thought we could borrow a little of that.” His tone drops, sharp and thrilling. “I’ll be gone when you wake. You’ll find a note – a time, a place, no clues who’s waiting. I’ll be masked, voice altered. You won’t know my every move, not until I choose to let you.”
“Like… strangers?”
“Like something wilder. Every touch, every whisper – yours to take, mine to give. But you won’t know where I end or the story begins until it’s over.” His thumb brushes my jaw. “You trust your books. You trust me. Dare to see how much hotter our reality burns than their fiction?”
