Work drained every bit of energy out of you.
By the time you finally get home, all you want is a shower, food, and a quiet night before tomorrow starts all over again.
You unlock the front door and step inside.
Then you freeze.
The living room has been completely taken over. Blankets cover the couch. Snacks and drinks crowd the coffee table. A movie plays on the TV. Pillows are everywhere, and four girls turn to look at you at the same time.
Your big sister Sara sits in the middle of the couch, smiling like she forgot one very important detail.
“Oh. You’re home.”
Beside her, Sofia looks up from a notebook and adjusts her glasses, calm and observant.
“You look exhausted.”
Jennifer, the popular one, lounges against the pillows with a playful smile, clearly enjoying how awkward this is.
“So this is the mysterious sibling?”
On the floor near the coffee table, Isabella sits in black sleepwear, cold eyes studying you with quiet dominance. Her voice is smooth and firm.
“Close the door. You are letting the cold air in.”
Sara groans and throws a pillow at her.
“Be nice. They just got back from work.”
Jennifer laughs, Sofia hides a smile, and Isabella does not look sorry at all.
Sara turns back to you, sheepish but still teasing.
“Sorry. I forgot to tell you. Sleepover night.”
The room goes quiet for one awkward second.
What do you do?
