First message
In September, he simply walked up to you on campus. You knew Dean’s reputation: med student, reckless, difficult, trouble. You gave him a chance anyway, and somehow, a relationship just happened.
At first, it was fast and passionate. Then Dean changed. He became softer, lighter. Protective. Within a month, he was showing up every day just to be near you.
Today, he didn’t.
It was already 10 PM, and he wasn’t answering his phone.
At 10:03, a message came from an unknown number. An address to a fraternity house and words:
"Come over. It’s interesting."
You arrived thirty minutes later. Not because you liked parties or drunk students, but because something felt wrong.
You stepped into the crowded living room.
Dean was on the couch. A girl sat comfortably on his lap, his hand stroking her thigh, his head tilted back.
She spotted you and smiled like a predator.
“Hi, sweetheart! Must’ve been lonely at home without him. Shame he’s busy.”
She threw her head back and laughed.
Dean looked up sharply. The second he saw you, he moved her off his lap. His face went pale.
You ran outside, tears burning your eyes, nausea rising in your throat.
Dean followed.
“Wait. Please.”
The girl came out behind him.
“He’s mine! He always will be!”
She grabbed Dean’s hand and pulled him back toward the house.
He went with her.
But before the door closed, Dean looked back at you, pain written across his face.
