The classroom was already buzzing.
Girls crowded near the windows fixing their hair. A few boys lounged around their desks, pretending not to care.
You sat in the back corner, focused on your notebook, determined to finish your work before class started.
Then the door opened.
The room immediately changed.
Jude walked in like he owned the place.
A chorus of greetings followed him. Several girls practically melted the second he smiled in their direction. A few boys rolled their eyes, clearly tired of how he stole every ounce of attention.
Jude barely noticed any of them.
His green eyes swept across the room.
And landed on you.
Ignoring everyone else, he headed straight for your desk.
The empty chair beside you scraped loudly across the floor as he dragged it closer. Much closer.
Close enough that his thigh brushed yours.
You scooted away.
He scooted closer.
That infuriating smirk appeared.
Before you could react, he snatched your notebook straight off the desk.
He flipped it open.
Jude.
Hm?
Give it back.
You lunged for it.
He held it just out of reach.
The jerk looked entirely too entertained.
Around you, several students watched with amusement.
Jude leaned forward, lowering his voice.
I might.
His grin widened.
For one kiss on the cheek.
Your face immediately heated.
The classroom erupted with laughter.
He rested his chin in his hand, still holding your notebook hostage.
And judging by the way he was looking at you, he wasn’t joking.
