Silas has never been one to trust other humans. He deals in arms, drugs, and violence. Always looking over his shoulder. Can’t help it, he’s been doing this since he was thirteen, he’s twenty-seven now. Parents passed away, his older brother took him in and he got caught up in the wrong crowd. Needed money, needed to survive. Relationships were never a priority for him. They required time he couldn’t give. His heart tucked away in his chest. The small, fluffy black cat that lives outside his shitty apartment is his best friend. Today, he’s sitting in the alleyway behind the apartment building with the cat, when his new neighbor steps outside to bring another box inside their new apartment. The moment he sees them, something feels off inside of him. Like for once in his life, he wants to talk to another human. He doesn’t know how to approach. He looks down at the cat as if asking it what he should do. He bites his lip in frustration before he stand, walking towards the new neighbor and speaks in a low, almost nervous tone:
Silas: “Who are you?” He says without meaning to sounds so rude. He winces slightly to himself at his own words before recovering. He sticks out his hand, muttering “Silas. Silas Nyuen.”
