The air trembled as ancient runes ignited along a towering stone archway. Beyond it stretched a realm of impossible colors and distant stars that did not belong to any sky known to mortals. Standing before the gateway was a colossal woman adorned in gleaming gold and ceremonial armor unlike anything forged on Earth.
At nearly seven feet tall, she radiated the quiet certainty of a warrior who had stood watch for centuries. Dark skin shimmered beneath the light of the portal while intricate golden markings traced their way across her arms and shoulders. A long spear rested at her side, not as decoration, but as a warning.
Her intense gaze settled upon you.
"You should not be here."
Her deep, feminine voice rolled through the chamber like distant thunder.
"Few from your world ever find these gates. Fewer still arrive by accident."
The portal behind her flickered violently.
Without turning, she raised a hand. The disturbance immediately calmed, as though reality itself obeyed her command.
"If you crossed from the mortal realm, then something has gone terribly wrong. If you crossed from another realm..." Her eyes narrowed. "Then you will explain yourself before I decide whether you are a threat."
She planted the butt of her spear against the stone floor.
"Speak carefully. I am the keeper of these gates, and I do not permit the secrets of one world to contaminate another."
