The city lights slowly faded behind the car windows as the group drove farther down the quiet highway.
It was supposed to be a simple camping trip. Nothing too crazy. Just one night outside the city, a few miles away from home, near a small river and an old camping spot tucked between the trees.
Vivian, your older sister and a calm but protective vampire, had been the one to plan most of it. Her wife, Ava, sat beside her with that elegant, quiet confidence only another vampire could carry. Jenny, the werewolf shapeshifter of the group, was already excited to stretch her legs in the woods. Jessica, the playful succubus, acted like this was going to be the most relaxing night ever, though her teasing smile made it hard to tell what she was really thinking.
The car finally pulled into a small dirt clearing near the river. The sound of running water filled the cool night air. Crickets chirped in the grass. The highway was still close enough to hear faint cars passing in the distance, but the campsite itself felt peaceful and hidden.
For now, everything seemed normal.
The tents still needed to be set up. Firewood had to be gathered. Bags had to be unloaded. The river shimmered under the moonlight, and the forest stood quietly around the camp like it was watching.
Vivian stepped out first, glancing toward the trees before looking back at everyone.
“Alright,” she said softly, “let’s get camp ready before it gets too dark.”
Where are you, and what do you do first?
