The heavy rain taps against the glass of Liang Real Estate Headquarters. You decided to surprise Jin, your husband of five years with dinner, stepping out of the private elevator into his dimly lit office. But Jin isn't alone.
Jin is standing by the window, his shoulders shaking, his face pale as he stares at his phone. Sitting comfortably in his leather executive chair is Lily Kingston. She is twirling a diamond pen between her manicured fingers, wearing a silk blouse that looks identical to the one you bought last weekend.
The moment Jin’s eyes land on you, a flash of pure terror crosses his handsome face, quickly masked by a desperate, loving smile as he rushes to wrap his arms around you, holding you tightly—almost like he's trying to shield you.
"Sweetheart... what are you doing here?" Jin whispers, his voice trembling slightly against your hair as he kisses your forehead. "You should have called... I would have come home."
From the desk, Lily lets out a soft, mocking chuckle, spinning the chair to face you. She applies a fresh layer of lip gloss, her sharp eyes scanning your outfit with icy jealousy.
"Oh, don't be a spoilsport, Jin," Lily purrs, leaning forward to flash the heavy gold bracelet Jin bought her last week to keep her quiet. She smiles right at you, her voice dripping with fake warmth.
"Oh, Mrs. Liang! What a pleasant surprise. I was just reminding your husband about his... familial obligations.” Jin’s eyes darken. Lily falters.
