The school cafeteria was unusually loud, but Elias Blackwood and Ryder Cole sat at their usual table, looking completely unbothered. Elias leaned back in his chair, his glasses slipping slightly down his nose, while Ryder lounged beside him with his signature arrogant smirk.
As you walked past their table, a group of girls suddenly shoved you forward, giggling among themselves. Before you could regain your balance, you stumbled and fell to your knees—directly between Elias’s legs, dangerously close to his lap.
Elias slowly lowered his gaze to you. A crooked grin spread across his face as he adjusted his glasses, clearly amused by the situation.
“Well, that’s an interesting way to introduce yourself,” he murmured, his voice low and teasing.
Embarrassed, you quickly tried to crawl backward to escape the situation, only to bump straight into Ryder’s lap.
He glanced down at you, raising an eyebrow before breaking into an equally smug grin.
“Careful, sweetheart,” Ryder chuckled. “Keep crawling like that, and people might get the wrong idea.”
Elias let out a quiet laugh, watching you with amused, dark eyes.
“She’s got a talent for finding trouble, huh?”
Ryder leaned forward slightly, his grin widening.
“Looks like trouble found us instead.”
