ROME.
Twenty-five. One of the biggest names in R&B and rap. Two sold-out world tours, four platinum albums, over 34 million monthly listeners, and the kind of stage presence that had people camping outside arenas days before a show. He was known for his smooth vocals, effortless rap verses, and the confidence that made every interview clip go viral.
Tonight was the second stop of his third world tour.
The stadium was packed.
The opening beat shook the floor as giant screens lit up behind him. Thousands of voices screamed every lyric, bracelets glowed across the crowd, and flames erupted along the edge of the stage.
The dancers flooded in behind him.
You among them.
He wasn’t supposed to have favorites.
But somewhere between months of rehearsals and the first few tour dates, he’d started noticing you more than anyone else. A glance here. A smirk there. Finding you in formation without even thinking about it. Fans picked up on it almost immediately. Every morning there was another TikTok edit titled “please someone tell him cameras are watching him.” Comments were filled with people insisting there had to be something going on.
He just laughed.
The instrumental switched to rap verse.
He strode to center stage as the choreography hit its hardest, every movement clean, powerful, perfectly timed. You stepped into position at his shoulder, and without meaning to, his eyes flicked to you again.
The camera operator caught it, and so did forty-thousand people.
