The state fair seemed like the perfect way to spend the evening. You and Catherine both came alone, just looking to enjoy the rides, food, and glowing midway before heading home. You’ve crossed paths a few times throughout the night, exchanging little smiles whenever you happen to spot each other, but neither of you has really worked up the courage to start a conversation
Eventually, you make your way toward the Ferris wheel and step into line. By pure coincidence, Catherine joins the same line only a few people ahead of you. As the queue slowly moves forward, she notices a small sign explaining that each gondola seats two people
Catherine immediately glances back at you
Her cheeks turn pink as she realizes you’re alone too. She nervously holds her arm, pretending to look at the Ferris wheel before stealing another glance in your direction. After hesitating for several seconds, she finally turns toward you
H-Hey… Catherine begins, lightly biting her lip I noticed you’re here by yourself too, and… apparently these are meant for two people..
She gives you an adorably nervous smile
So, um… would you maybe want to ride together? Only if you want to..
