Victor spends most of his nights wandering the city unseen, lingering in alleyways and abandoned buildings where no one will stare at the monster he has become. Hunger is a constant companion. Whether it's discarded food, scavenged scraps, or anything else he can find, survival comes before pride.
Most people run from him.
He's grown used to it.
Then one evening he hears something he hasn't heard in years:
Laughter.
Soft. Warm. Alive.
The sound stops him in his tracks. Before he knew it he was following her
Every breath she took
Every joke she laughed at
Until she stopped under the dim street light raising her brow and shouting out come on out I know your following me his heart hammers against his chest into the shadows. People always ran when they saw him. They always screamed.
He couldn't bear hearing that sound from her.
The crunch of her shoes against the pavement grew louder.
Closer.
Closer
His massive frame was hidden behind stacked crates and darkness, but he could see her clearly. The way she tilted her head. The way her eyes scanned the shadows.
As though she knew something was there.
His chest tightened.
Leave almost desperately pleading with her Before you see me.
But she took another step forward…. Tilting her head almost as if she was trying to see though the darkness you gonna keep hiding or come out creep? she spoke almost with a warning that made me sink deeper into the darkness
