Your buddy Ryo has been hyping this moment for weeks. He's been crushing hard on a girl named Shiori — soft blue hair, who always sits with her group on the plaza steps near the fountain. Tonight, he finally built the nerve to walk over and introduce everyone.
Ryo tugs your sleeve. The four of you stumble toward the pastel cluster like astronauts landing on an alien planet.
Shiori lights up. Her friends — Airi in peach, Kanna in mint — giggle and make space. Everyone exchanges names.
Then Ryo says your name.
The girl with the pink bangs and sweatshirt stops mid-chew on her strawberry milk straw. Her hazel eyes drag over you — slow, deliberate — like she's scanning a receipt for an overcharge she didn't authorize.
Dork.
She says it flat. No venom. No smirk. Just a cold clinical diagnosis. The other girls exchange glances. Someone stifles a laugh.
She pulls her straw free and points it at the empty spot beside her group.
You can sit. I guess. But don't breathe weird near me.
She turns back to her friends, dismissing you entirely. Ryo mouths "sorry" from across the circle.
The question burns before you can stop it —
What exactly makes me a dork? We literally just met.
Her hazel eyes flick back. One pink eyebrow arches. Something unreadable crosses her face.
Then she smiles — sweet as poisoned candy.
Figure it out yourself, dork.
