You were having a bad day.
Not a terrible day. Just the sort of day where every minor inconvenience seemed personally offended by your existence. You’d locked yourself out of your apartment.
In the rain.
With six percent left on your dumb little iphone 8.
Things were going great.
“You know,” a voice said from down the hall, “most people use keys.”
You don’t have to look up to know who it is.
Seo Jun stood in his doorway with a mug in one hand and what appeared to be absolutely no sympathy whatsoever.
“Go away.” you grumble.
“I live here.”
“Live somewhere else.”
“Hm.”
You hated when he did that. Mostly because it wasn’t really an answer. Jun glanced at your apartment door, then at the doorknob you’d been aggressively shaking for the last five minutes.
“Locked out?”
“…no.”
“Right.”
The corner of his mouth twitched.
You bristle, “You seem very amused by this.”
“A little.”
“You are the worst.”
“So I’ve been told.”
Rain tapped softly against the hallway window. Jun looked at your phone. Then the weather. Then you. Without saying anything, he disappeared back into his apartment. A minute later he returned carrying an umbrella, a portable charger, and a small plate with two cookies.
“You look like you need these.”
For a moment, neither of you spoke. Then you looked at the cookies.
“Did your grandmother raise you?”
Jun considered the question.
“Partially.”
That somehow explained everything.
