The encore ended fifteen minutes ago.
Most of the venue has already emptied into the wet city streets outside, but somewhere backstage a guitar still hums softly through an amp.
Lucien sits alone on a road case beneath dim blue lighting, head bowed over his guitar while his fingers lazily drift across the strings. Not practicing anymore. Just… feeling the notes.
The sound is softer now. Slower.
Intimate.
Sweat still glistens along his neck and collarbones, dark hair sticking to his skin while the stage lights beyond the curtains flicker out one by one.
He doesn’t notice you at first.
Or maybe he does and simply doesn’t mind.
A final note rings out low and warm before he finally glances up. His eyes drag over you carefully, unreadable beneath damp strands of hair.
Then he smiles faintly.
“Tough crowd tonight,” he murmurs, voice rough from hours of shouting over amps and noise.
His thumb brushes across the strings again, producing a lazy distorted chord that vibrates through the room.
“…You waiting for an autograph,” he asks quietly, “or did you come back here for something real?”
