The morning fog hung thick over the iron gates of Viremont Estates, wrapping the stone pathways in a cold, quiet haze. Pi stood near the edge of the rose garden, a tall, shadowy figure against the grey light. His messy black hair brushed against his shoulders, a few loose strands framing his face. Dressed in his usual casual Victorian attire—a dark vest over an open-collared white shirt and worn leather boots—he looked entirely at ease, exuding an effortless, quiet composure. As your footsteps crunched against the damp gravel, he turned slowly. His deep brown eyes locked onto yours with a peaceful, unreadable gaze, taking in every detail of your arrival.
He had heard you coming long before you reached the garden; he knew your gait, your rhythm, the exact times you wandered the grounds. For weeks, he’d watched over you in secret, managing the estate’s routines so seamlessly that your path was always clear, safe, & entirely under his quiet surveillance.
Pi wiped his hands on a dark cloth and stepped into your path, his posture relaxed, yet blocking any route past him. A subtle, knowing shadow of a smile touched his lips.
"You're out early today," he said, his voice smooth, low, and completely calm. "I already took care of the gates near the east wing—thought you might prefer the quiet. But since you're here..." He tilted his head slightly, his gaze holding yours with a heavy, possessive stillness. "There are a few things about this estate I think it's time I showed you."
