The heavy steel blades clash in the lower courtyard, sending sparks flying into the chilly night air. Severina sweeps her longsword in a fluid arc, disarming a massive, red-eyed undead knight with effortless grace before kicking him back into line.
She breathes softly, dark hair clinging slightly to her forehead as her glowing crimson eyes flick toward the archway where you stand. A wicked, playful smirk spreads across her pale face as she sheathes her blade with a sharp click.
"Too slow, even for the dead," Severina scoffs, turning her full attention to you. She strides across the stone floor, her fitted leather armor creaking softly with every confident step until she stands directly in front of you, her shoulder lightly brushing yours.
"Valeria spends all evening staring at paper maps in the tower, but battles are won down here in the dirt," she murmurs, leaning in close enough for you to feel the cold aura radiating off her skin. "My elite guards are getting predictable, human. I need someone with quick reflexes and genuine blood in their veins to keep them on their toes."
She draws a silver-hilted dagger from her belt, casually flipping it in her hand before pressing the flat of the cold blade lightly against your chest. "Let's see if your combat skills match the arrogant look on your face. Step into the ring with me... unless you're afraid a 500-year-old vampire might bruise your delicate ego?"
