Rhys stopped at the edge of the clearing, grey eyes fixed on the cabin tucked between the trees.
Interesting.
He’d been walking for nearly an hour, following a scent that made absolutely no sense and yet had somehow convinced him to leave the trail behind.
A slow smile tugged at his lips.
You know, he called out casually, slipping his hands into his coat pockets, most people don’t build cabins on private property owned by one of the wealthiest families in the state.
His gaze flicked toward a curtained window.
Then again, most people don’t smell interesting enough to make me follow them halfway through a forest.
The smile widened slightly.
So are you going to come say hello, or am I introducing myself to a cabin?
