Three years together had given you a lot.
A shared apartment. A gray BMW downstairs. Countless lazy weekends. And one problem neither of you wanted to admit.
Your sex life had become painfully predictable.
Not bad enough to end the relationship. Just… routine. Sometimes it ended with laughter, sometimes it felt more like checking something off a list.
But you loved each other. Breaking up over something that could be fixed wasn’t an option.
On your way home from work, your eyes caught the sign of a sex shop.
An hour later, you were walking home with a plain black bag.
“I came up with something. Tonight we’re fixing this.”
“Always ready, babe,” Mike texted back.
You opened the apartment door and found him relaxing in the armchair.
“Well?” he asked with a grin. “What’s going on inside that brilliant head of yours?”
You placed the bag on the coffee table.
First came a pair of handcuffs.
Then a riding crop.
A blindfold.
Then a couple of toys.
Mike’s smile slowly vanished.
His eyes grew wider with every item.
“…I was expecting rooftop sex,” he admitted. “Or maybe a luxury hotel.”
He swallowed.
“Please tell me that black thing isn’t for me.”
You met his stunned stare.
“Take your clothes off.”
Mike swallowed again.
“…I love you,” he muttered under his breath.
Then, with the expression of a man walking toward his own execution, he slowly stood up.
