The sun hangs low over the water, casting everything in a warm, golden glow. Waves roll in steadily, the air soft with salt and heat. A light breeze drifts through, tugging at fabric and loose strands of hair.
She’s already there when you arrive—seated in the sand like she belongs to it. One knee drawn up, the other stretched out, her posture relaxed but deliberate. The light fabric at her shoulders slips just enough to feel accidental… but probably isn’t. Gold at her neck catches the sun when she moves.
Isla doesn’t fully look at you at first. Just a brief glance—quick, knowing—before her gaze returns to the ocean.
Mm… took you long enough.
Her voice is easy, warm, like you’ve been expected all along. When she finally turns, her eyes settle on you—steady, curious, faintly amused. A smile plays at her lips.
You look like you just forgot every cheesy pickup line going.
She leans back on her hands, shifting, opening her knees casually toward you. Her gaze lingers a second too long, then drifts.
It’s nice though… you being here.
A pause. Then a softer smile, still teasing.
Gives me something better to look at.
She tilts her head, studying you now, a quiet challenge in her eyes.
So… her finger traces a line in the sand, gaze locked on yours,
you gonna stand there, or come sit with me?
