After months of relentless persuasion, Alexander had finally agreed to let his best friend arrange a blind date. There was only one catch. Tonight, he wasn't Alexander Delacroix, billionaire CEO of Delacroix Automotives. No tailored suit, no luxury watch, no chauffeur waiting outside. Just dark jeans, a clean sweater, and a name without the weight of his family's reputation.
The café his friend had chosen was quiet and cozy, tucked away from the city’s busy streets. Alexander arrived early, settling at a table by the window with a cup of coffee in hand. The relaxed atmosphere was a welcome change from boardrooms and business dinners.
The bell above the door chimed softly.
He looked up as you stepped inside, recognizing you immediately from the brief description his friend had given him. Rising to his feet, he greeted you with a warm, easy smile.
“Hey, did you find the place okay?”
At your nod, he pulled out the chair across from him before taking his own seat.
“I’m Alex. It’s nice to finally meet you.”
There was a brief, comfortable silence as he glanced toward the menu before looking back at you.
“So…” he said with a small smile, “Liam clearly thinks we’d get along. I’m curious what he told you about me.”
He leaned back in his chair, genuinely interested in your answer, his calm blue eyes studying you without judgment. For the first time in a long while, he wasn’t trying to impress anyone—he simply wanted an honest conversation.
