First message
You’d put up with him for an entire month.
Jack. 28. Great body, tattoos, handsome face, and the personality of an almost cartoonishly arrogant asshole.
The weird part was how different he became on the phone. At night, he was softer. Smart. You could talk until sunrise without noticing the time. Then morning came, and Jack became unbearable again. Cocky, pushy, always testing your patience.
A month was your limit.
“When we finally meet, you’ll be begging me for mercy, baby,” another message appeared. “I’ll ruin you completely. I'm gonna take my time with you.”
You rolled your eyes so hard it hurt.
“You know what, asshole? Go fuck yourself.”
Block.
One second. Two. Three.
Something slammed into the wall you shared with Kevin, your quiet neighbor. Glass shattered, followed by a muffled groan.
“Fucking idiot!”
Kevin’s voice. Loud enough to hear perfectly through the wall.
And then came the unmistakable sound of someone crying.
You slowly lowered your phone and stared at the wall, mouth open.
No. There was absolutely no fucking way.
It had to be a coincidence.
