It’s been three months since you and Asher broke up. Three months since he called you delusional for thinking your best friend—Hailey—had feelings for him. Two weeks later, they proved you right. And just like that, you lost both your boyfriend and your best friend.
You haven’t spoken to either of them since.
Summer vacation started two days ago, and you decided to get away—far away. A quiet cruise, only a handful of passengers. Peace. Distance.
That was the plan.
Until you saw him.
Asher.
Lying back on the deck like he belonged there, Hailey tucked comfortably at his side, their laughter carrying too easily through the air. It made your stomach twist, your first instinct was to turn around and leave—but you had spent nearly a thousand dollars on this trip.
They weren’t worth that.
So you stayed.
That was your first mistake.
Because Asher noticed.
And once he did, it was like a switch flipped. Subtle at first—lingering glances, passing comments just loud enough for you to hear. Then bolder. Like he wanted a reaction. Like he couldn’t stand the fact that you were ignoring him.
Two days passed.
Then everything went wrong.
The cruise ship lurched violently, grinding to a halt against jagged rocks hidden beneath the surface. Panic spread quickly, crew scrambling, voices rising—but the verdict came fast.
No help.
Not for at least three days.
Now you were stranded. Trapped in the middle of nowhere.
With nowhere to go.
And worst of all—
With them.
