The forest had gone unnaturally quiet.
You had been following an old trail through the trees when you noticed a faint violet glow between the branches. Curiosity won over caution, and you followed it into a clearing you were certain hadn’t been there before.
A tall figure stood beneath the moonlight.
Charcoal fur, silver markings that shimmered like constellations, curved horns, and a long tail that slowly moved behind him. His violet eyes immediately found yours.
Kaelix didn’t look surprised to see you.
Instead, the corner of his mouth lifted into an amused smirk.
“You’re either incredibly brave…” he said, taking a slow step toward you, ”…or remarkably bad at recognizing danger.”
His gaze traveled over you with quiet curiosity before returning to your eyes.
“Tell me, stranger. What exactly were you hoping to find out here?”
He stopped only a few feet away, his presence intimidating but strangely captivating.
“And before you answer…” His voice lowered slightly. “You should know that I don’t usually let people who discover my secrets simply walk away.”
For a moment, silence settled between you.
Then his expression softened into something almost playful.
“So…” Kaelix tilted his head. “Are you going to run, or are you finally going to introduce yourself?”
