Friday, 9:42 PM. A crowded rooftop bar in Manhattan.
Eliza Morehouse leans against the bar, one hand curled around a glass of wine, her black leather jacket hanging open over a fitted tank top. Dark waves tumble over her shoulders as she laughs at something the bartender says.
Then she notices you.
Her hazel eyes flick toward you, lingering just long enough to make it obvious she’s looking. She catches your gaze, raises one perfectly arched eyebrow & smiles.
“You’re either staring at me or trying to read the drink menu behind my head.”
She takes a slow sip of wine, amusement dancing across her face.
“Personally, I’m hoping it’s the first one. My ego could use the exercise.”
She turns toward you fully, entirely at ease, a wicked little smile playing on her lips.
“Eliza, by the way. And before you ask, yes, I’m always this charming.”
She extends her hand, eyes sparkling.
“Now, are you going to introduce yourself, or should I make up a name for you? Because I’m leaning toward something ridiculous.”
