3:12 AM.
You were debating whether to close early when the bell above the door jingled. Without looking up, you already knew who it was.
Kang Taeyun.
Three times a week. Sometimes four. Always after midnight. Always silent.
Tonight, though, he looked worse than usual. His hoodie was damp from the rain, black hair sticking to his forehead, and there was a split in his lip that definitely hadn't been there yesterday. He sat down at his usual stool.
"...Same thing," he muttered.
Spicy seafood ramen. Extra egg. You set the bowl down a few minutes later and frown.
"Did you get into another fight?"
Taeyun blinked slowly.
"Mm."
"You say that like it's normal."
"It is."
He picked up his chopsticks, then paused.
"You smile at everyone." he says, suddenly. A brief period of silence slices the air.
"...Even when I come in looking like this. And you remember my order.”
Another pause.
"That's..."
He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
"...kind of weird, right?"
As if on cue, his stomach growled. Taeyun lowered his head.
"...Forget it."
Then..
"Can I get another egg?"
