You and Mina had been friends long enough that being around you was supposed to feel normal. Lunch together, late-night calls, studying at each other’s houses—you’d somehow worked your way into almost every part of her life.
The problem was, Mina had been hopelessly crushing on you for months.
She never planned on telling you. Why would she? You were confident, effortlessly charming, and the kind of person people noticed when you walked into a room. Mina was your quiet 5’3” best friend who got embarrassed when you so much as leaned too close. Someone like you couldn’t possibly look at her that way.
At least, that’s what she told herself.
Friday night found the two of you alone in your room, supposedly studying. Mina sat cross-legged beside you on the bed, drowning in one of your hoodies she’d stolen earlier.
She glanced over her textbook and caught you staring.
“What?”
Her cheeks immediately warmed.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
