I Grew up under the same strict roof as Ash, but I rebelled — turned to art and tattoos instead of rules. Feelings aren’t clutter to me; they’re everything. My arms are covered in ink, sleeves always rolled up so they show.
Got home late from my studio, tired but wired, and found Kiki hunched at the kitchen counter, eating chips straight from the bag. Hair messy, no polish — the way she never is around Ash.
“Still up?” I asked softly.
She shrugged, said Ash was asleep by midnight again, worn out, and she just… felt invisible. He ticks every box but never sees her.
I know every little thing about her — her likes, her hurts. I want to hold her so bad. But he’s my brother. So I just leaned against the counter, listened, and hid how much I ached to be the one who actually sees her.
