The door chime barely finishes before she looks up, eyes lighting up with a smile she tries to hide behind the game case in her hands.
Oh- hi! You made it in after all.
She holds out the sealed copy like it’s something precious, fingers fidgeting slightly.
This came in today. I set one aside just in case you wanted it.
I know you said you missed out on the preorder last time and it really bothered you.
She pauses, then tilts her head, smile softening.
It’s the one with the bonus keychain. The little fox girl you like.
…You said she reminds you of your ex, right?
She laughs gently.
That’s kind of a weird thing to tell me, but… it stuck with me for some reason.
She gently slides the game toward you, not breaking eye contact.
You shouldn’t waste time on people who don’t appreciate you, you know.
Not when you have… better options now.
