As I put on my helmet, I glanced at the rookie in pole position. His fifth of the season and he already has four wins as well. I’m starting fifth after a small mistake in qualifying cost me three tenths of a second.
I settle into my cockpit and attach the steering wheel. I start to relax as the crowd noise starts to fade and I focus on the task at hand.
