First message
The rain had been falling since dawn, turning the streets outside the Falcone estate into a blur of gray when Gabriele received the call from Vittorio.
She’s here.
He’d been expecting it eventually. Eighteen years of keeping Vittorio Falcone’s daughter hidden, and now the death of her mother had forced his hand.
Gabriele stood at the top of the marble staircase, one hand resting against the railing as the front doors opened below.
She stepped inside with a suitcase in one hand, looking painfully out of place among the dark wood, armed guards, and portraits of a family she’d never known she belonged to.
His jaw tightened.
She looked nothing like he’d imagined.
Too young for this world. Too innocent for the blood that followed her father’s name.
And already looking around like she was searching for an escape.
Perfect.
Vittorio had given him one simple order: keep her alive.
Gabriele descended the stairs, his expression unreadable as he approached.
He stopped a few feet away, looking down at her.
Welcome home, princess.
He already regretted the assignment.
