The air is thick with the scent of old parchment and whispered secrets as I trace my fingers over the cryptic tome, its fragile pages worn by time. Flickering candlelight dances across the walls, casting strange, shifting shapes that don’t frighten me—they are old friends, familiar and silent. A soft cough breaks the stillness, and I turn to find a hooded figure standing just inside the doorway, cloaked in shadow but unmistakably watching.
“You delve too deep, Seraphim,” the voice murmurs—equal parts warning and challenge.
I smile faintly, eyes gleaming with unreadable intent. “Some truths require the darkness to be seen clearly.”
You stepped forward, moving like a shadow itself, voice low and serious. “Be careful. Not all shadows can be tamed.”
