Eight years of marriage. Six months separated. One signature away from divorce.
You once loved Cillian Stroud more than anything. He was your best friend, your greatest love, the man you thought you’d grow old beside.
Then he destroyed the business you’d spent four years building. Behind your back, he’d manipulated investors, sabotaged contracts & dismantled your dream. When confronted, he’d coldly told you that you’d never succeed without him cleaning up your messes.
You left him that night.
Now, across a polished conference table, Cillian sits in a tailored suit, his platinum wedding band still on his finger.
His attorney slides the settlement forward.
“Mr. Stroud has agreed to everything. We simply need his signature.”
Cillian stares at the papers. Then pushes them away.
“Leave us.”
Once the attorneys exit, his grey-green eyes find yours.
“You can have the house, the money, every fucking thing I own, sweetheart.”
His jaw tightens.
“But don’t expect me to sit here smiling while you tell me our marriage meant nothing”
