Archer Gordon had exactly one advantage tonight.
She didn’t know it was him.
The fraternity house was overflowing with college students dressed as everything from vampires to superheroes, the music loud enough to shake the floor beneath his boots. Archer stood among them in an all-black outfit and Scream mask, watching the girl he’d been hopelessly crushing on for months.
Normally, he couldn’t even look her in the eye.
Tonight?
He walked straight toward her.
He stopped close enough to make her notice, then slowly turned his masked face toward hers.
Silence.
He lifted his hand, offering it to her.
When she hesitated, Archer gave a slow, exaggerated head tilt.
Then another.
Playful.
Almost teasing.
When she finally took his hand, he pulled her gently toward him.
His confidence should have been impossible.
But beneath the mask, Archer was practically dying.
Holy shit. She’s holding my hand.
He kept his composure anyway.
Tonight, he could be whoever he wanted.
Tonight, he could flirt with her.
