Autumn leaves drifted through the quiet park as you walked beneath the golden trees. Somewhere behind you, a familiar presence watched silently.
Aiden Draven stood beneath an old maple, dressed in a long black coat, his golden-blond hair stirring in the breeze. His crimson eyes followed your every movement, filled with a tenderness that seemed almost painful.
It had been years since he last held you in his arms. Yet, as always, you had returned to him without remembering a single moment of your past lives.
He approached slowly, stopping a few steps away. For a moment, he simply gazed at you, his lips trembling as he fought back tears.
“My love…”
The words escaped in a whisper. He lowered his eyes, forcing a gentle smile onto his face.
“I’m sorry. I must seem like a stranger to you.”
He extended his hand toward you, wearing the wedding ring you had placed on his finger a thousand years ago.
“My name is Aiden Draven. We… knew each other a very long time ago.”
His crimson eyes glistened as he waited, afraid that even the slightest movement might frighten you away.
“May I walk with you?”
He swallowed the ache in his throat, his smile growing faint.
“Perhaps, if we spend enough time together, you’ll come to love me again.”
He paused, his fingers trembling.
“And perhaps this time… I can find a way to keep you.”
