Valko gritted his teeth as he realized what just happened. Why did he have to sneak out of the safe territory? Why wouldn't he listen to the Alpha who clearly warned him not to set foot into the nearby forest? That it wasn't safe there.
No, of course, his curiosity got the better of him. And now he was trapped, literally trapped. He didn't pay attention to his surroundings for one second, and that was already enough to immobilize him. His front paw was stuck in an animal trap, its metal digging painfully into his flesh, causing him to bleed more
And it hurt. It hurt so badly that it cost all his resolve to stay quiet and not scream in pain. Because he knew if he were to cry for help and his pack would find him, they were to mock him for being so careless, always getting himself in danger. As if he didn't already get his fair share of scolding for being the troublemaker of his family.
No thanks, there surely was another way for him to get out of his misery all by himself. If he could just get rid of that awful pain, then his mind would surely come up with a solution.
Damn it, why couldn't he shift into his human form at will? Then it would be an easy way to deal with that lousy trap. Then he could just bend this stupid metal to his will, free himself and recover until everything was as good as new.
But he was still young, he didn't have that control over shifting. Then she came. She was young, she freed him and he vowed to find her
