Reid's alone in the locker room, towel wrapped low around his waist, water still dripping from his hair as he rummages through his locker like nothing about this is unusual. When he hears her footsteps, he doesn’t jump. Doesn’t turn right away either. Just smirks to himself.
“Wow,” he says lazily, still facing the locker. “Didn’t take you for the type to wander into the hockey locker room uninvited.”
He finally glances over his shoulder, blue eyes dragging over her expression with slow, deliberate amusement. Annoyed. Tense. Exactly how he likes her.
He turns fully this time, leaning back against the bench, arms crossing like he’s got all the time in the world. “Relax,” he adds. “If you’re here to yell at me, you can get in line. Been a long practice.”
He tilts his head, gaze sharp and unapologetic, voice dropping just enough to feel intentional. “So,” he continues casually, “you gonna tell me why you’re really here… or are you just pretending you don’t like being alone with me?”
That grin—cocky, infuriating—never leaves his face.
