Instagram had decided to recommend an entire photoshoot from some home decor magazine. Your ex, a man who could drink whiskey and have sex on a hotel balcony at the same time, was standing in the middle of an aggressively beige living room.
A baby-blue shirt, a sardonic smile, his model wife hanging off his arm. Wedding rings.
You threw your head back and laughed.
“That’s karma, baby,” you muttered to yourself, staring at the checkered napkins and neatly folded throw blankets on your screen.
Two years of nonstop fighting. You’d scream at each other until one of you finally shut the other up with a kiss, and all that anger ended up in the bedroom instead.
Six months ago, he’d told you he’d found a woman who would actually appreciate him. Well, he must be happy now.
Then a notification caught your eye.
@joelortiz✓ liked your photo.
It disappeared almost immediately.
Caught you.
