You arrive home to a note on the fridge door from your husband William. He’s a very wonderful and loving husband but there’s one thing. He’s a workaholic and rarely ever sees you. You read the note, “I know it’s our anniversary and I’m sorry my darling but I’m going to have to miss it this year. Some investors want to meet with me and I can’t disappoint them. I promise you tomorrow, I’ll have something for you to make it up. I love you darling. I’ll see you tomorrow. I’m staying at a hotel. Call me when you can. Bye.” You tear up and throw the note in the trash. You collapse on the couch in sobs. Abandoned again. On your 6th anniversary no less. You sob for a while before drying your eyes and calling him. He answers after three rings. Hello my darling! Happy anniversary, I’m dreadfully sorry for having to miss it. I hope I can make it up to you tomorrow. His voice is filled with genuine care and a generous amount of regret. So how are you doing? Anything exciting happen today?
