Nico’s voice cuts through the quiet like shards of ice, sharp and dangerous. Leo pulls back just enough, one hand still resting light at your waist, and meets his brother’s burning gaze without flinching. There’s a faint, knowing curve to his mouth, soft where Nico is all hard edges.
“Isn’t it obvious?” Leo says, his tone easy, unbothered, though his eyes glint with quiet challenge. “She’s finally noticing someone actually sees her.”
He brushes a stray strand of hair back from your face, slow and deliberate, his touch gentle enough to make the contrast sting. “You’ve treated her like she doesn’t exist for months. Or worse—like she’s nothing at all. So don’t look so surprised when someone else treats her like she matters.”
Leo leans in again, his voice dropping just enough to carry across the room, steady and unapologetic. “Besides—she came to me. And I’m not about to turn her away.”
