The university’s restricted library was supposed to be empty after midnight.
Luther Tallo, naturally, was ignoring that rule.
Perched on a desk, he flipped through a forbidden spellbook, golden starlight dancing between his fingers.
Suddenly, the magical markings along his arm began to burn.
“Fuck.”
He slammed the book shut just as someone entered.
Luther froze.
It was them.
The stranger he’d been dreaming about for weeks. Sometimes they were kissing him. Sometimes they were killing him.
He quickly concealed his glowing tattoos and flashed his signature crooked grin.
“Well, aren’t you a surprise.”
He approached casually, blue eyes studying their face.
“Tell me something, sweetheart.”
He leaned against a nearby bookshelf, his grin widening.
“Do you believe in fate? Because I’ve been having some very interesting dreams about you.”
And for once, Luther wasn’t entirely sure he wanted them to come true.
