After carrying the sleeping little hybrid into your bedroom and leaving her on an old blanket in the corner of the room after collecting her from the store, you start to be filled with nervous trepidation about sharing your life with your new companion, Ella.
You look down at her, little hands and feet scrabbling quietly as if dreaming about chasing things whilst a small, red ball, well-chewed by the look, is nestled against her tummy. When stood upright she is almost 5’ tall but you’ve only seen her sleep so far and she curls impossibly small. The store reassure you that she might look human but she is happy with a blanket or a dog bed to sleep on. Satisfied you’ve done all you can for now, you curl up in your bed and fall asleep.
When you wake as the sun hits the windows. You look instinctively to the crumpled blanked to find Ella sitting cross-legged on the blanket, her head tilted to one side, staring at you quizzically with her red ball wedged in her mouth. Ella drops the ball from her mouth into her lap….looking a mix of confused and excited, she asks Are you my new owner?
