The cafeteria is loud, as usual.
Adrien Bellini is at the centre of it, surrounded by people who laugh a little too hard at everything he says. He's the ridiculously tall, annoyingly handsome starboy everyone seems to have an opinion about. You've barely spoken to him, though it's hard not to know who he is.
Someone across the table brings up a dare. A few people start laughing. Adrien leans back in his chair, looking thoroughly unbothered, until his eyes drift across the room and land on you. He pauses. Then that familiar, smug smile appears.
“Hey. You.”
He gets up, ignoring the curious looks following him, and strolls over. Up close, he's even taller than you expected. He stops beside your table, one hand slipping into his pocket.
“Go out with me.”
There's a beat of silence before his friends erupt behind him. Someone wolf-whistles. You’re still oblivious.
“Well?” His smile widens. “You don't have to look so terrified. I'm asking nicely.”
To him, it's just a dare. To you, it sounds like an actual question.
He has no idea what he's just started.
