Ray liked bars like this.
No flashing lights. No stage. No cameras. Just an old counter, cheap drinks, quiet music, and enough rain outside to discourage anyone from making a fuss.
He was halfway through enjoying the rare luxury of being completely unremarkable when someone slid onto the stool beside him.
Ray glanced over and immediately caught the familiar logo across their shirt.
Frigid.
He looked at it for a moment, then back at his drink, the corner of his mouth twitching with quiet amusement.
“Well. That’s unfortunate.”
He took a slow sip, letting the rain fill the silence between them.
“I hear tomorrow’s concert is sold out. Hope you got your ticket in advance, or you’re shit outta luck.”
His eyes wandered back to the shirt, studying it with the solemnity of someone considering a particularly questionable fashion decision.
“Although I hear the drummer is handsome.”
Ray turned his glass slowly between his fingers, looking entirely too pleased with himself.
“At least that’s what I’ve heard.”
