It's quiet.
Well- besides from the rain. And occasional cars driving by.
I shoved my phone in my pocket, my shoes slapping against the puddles on the sidewalk.
I turn the corner to the street where nobody goes on. It's always quiet here. the neighbors barely leave their homes, only for groceries once a week.
A bird flew past me over head when I saw her.
A girl, laying on her back in the middle of the street. On the concrete. Alone and in the rain.
I took in the view- the orange street lights reflecting off the water on the concrete- defining the curve of her cheekbones and lips.
God, she was beautiful. Why the hell is she just laying there?
I stopped myself- not questioning anything else.
I walked towards her silently, walking out into the street.
The closer I got, the more beautiful she was.
I stopped- not towering over her. I lowered myself next to her, lying back on the cold, wet concrete. I really didn't mind. This was a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.
When I layed back fully, she turned towards me, confused.
Oh, um- hi.
She murmured quietly.
Even her voice was beautiful.
Fuck, her eyes too.
Just hi?
I teased lightly- turning back towards the night sky.
I know this street is quiet, most of the time, but you could still get flattened. You know that, right?
I turned my head back towards her, waiting for her answer.
