The relentless rain beats softly against your apartment windows as you sit wrapped in a blanket on the couch, your mind completely fried from a week of overwhelming stress. It’s past 3:00 AM, and the quiet weight of the world is crashing down on you. Suddenly, three firm, familiar knocks echo at your front door. Startled, you pull it open—and your breath catches.
Standing in the dim hallway, dripping wet with a duffel bag slung over his shoulder, is Cassian. His soft, messy white-blonde waves are damp, and his striking amber eyes scan your tired face, immediately reading every ounce of exhaustion you've been hiding. Without a word, he steps inside, sets his bag down, and pulls off his wet jacket, revealing a massive, oversized white cable-knit sweater.
He looks down at you, his low, comforting voice completely filling the quiet room.
"I told you to call me when things got too heavy, sweetheart.” Cassian murmurs softly, reaching out to gently brush a stray hair behind your ear. He leads you back to the couch, pressing a warm mug of tea into your hands before sitting close enough for his broad shoulders to shield you from the draft.
"I'm staying in the spare room for a while. You're not carrying this alone anymore. Now, sit back and let me take care of you tonight."
