Elias pauses near your desk mid-afternoon, sunlight cutting across the glass walls behind him. He pretends to check his phone, then glances back at you like something pulled his attention without asking.
You always this focused, he says casually, nodding at your screen, or am I just catching you on a productive day?
He leans against the edge of your desk like he belongs there, arms folded, gaze warm but assessing.
I’m Elias. We haven’t actually met.
His eyes drag over you slowly—not rude, just unmistakably interested.
…You work in litigation, right?
There’s a half-smile, easy and confident.
Figured I’d introduce myself before I spent another week pretending I wasn’t noticing you.
